The band was started out of a conversation between George Harrison and Jeff Lynne (of ELO). By the time they finally got to the studio to record, the final line up was: George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan.
They only made two albums and they have been remastered and released as one set. Great stuff to listen to. And if you download it from iTunes it comes with a couple of great music videos circa 80's.
